Autonomy is a joint work of the dancer Sone Kúdel and visual artist Boris Vitázek. They use the piece to explore the issue of autonomy in the context of works of art, in contrast to their fears in the subconscious and the external influence in creation.

Autonomy is the culmination of Sona Kúdeľová's solo dance performances Autopilot and Autocorrect, where she opened a confrontation with elementary conflicts in her life. Autonomy is a process, a piece about the creation of a work. It is one's own therapy, learning and accepting one's own autonomy.

“This process vs. the work is my resonating body and my dancing mind. Flushes of resonances in different parts of the apartment, as a long-term ritual performative experiment, help me capture the intersections between myself as a dancer and myself as a person. Throughout the year, I obsessively research and analyse the rhizomatic firing of impulses that my mind produces. And the body survives. ”

Soňa Kúdeľová has made her presence  on the contemporary dance scene in Slovakia as choreographer, dancer, performer and teacher.

She explores new approaches in performative art and their overlaps. By drawing from everyday performativity, she gains experience and knowledge of how to grasp herself, in the cluster of contemporary society, as well as substantial motivation and imaginative spontaneity in the creative process. Through research of the body and mind, which changes over time, she oscillates along the themes of socio-psychological adaptation, interpersonal relationships and the society.

She creates collective collaborations with visual, musical and intermedia artists. In addition to everyday life, people and human character, she is also inspired by theoretical texts, studies and essays on art, performance and society.

She created two solo dance productions - Autopilot and Autocorrect in collaboration with the Batyskaf platform. She is currently developing a collective participatory project Zvuky ticha  / Sound of Silence /. She collaborates on the projects Manifesto of Possibilities (Manifest Možností; Petra Fornayová), Lines (Čiary; White Night).

She is a co-founder of the educational project Telohra/ Bodyplay, a board member of the PlaST - Contemporary Dance Platform and Coordinator of the residential area Gym / Telocvičňa at Nová Cvernovka.
