Movement workshops for children

In the lessons with children, the Bodyplays (Telohry) instructors work with movement, dance, rhythm, improvisation, experience from various dance techniques, voice, creativity, and play. They try to perceive the needs of the child and respect their individuality. Children's ideas enter the teaching process and often lead to surprising places.

The aim of the Bodyplays (Telohry) lessons is the perception of one's own body, mindful work with the body and its cognition, the development of creativity, movement coordination, as well as the overall development of the child's artistic and aesthetic sense.

 

Anna Hurajtová studied dance art at the Department of Dance at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava and at the State Conservatory in Košice. As a child, she danced in the folklore ensemble Zemplín. As an adult, she featured in the productions of the Slovak National Theatre, the New Stage / Nová scéna theatre and in projects of independent groups (L.A.B, elledanse). She is a graduate of the accredited creative dance course for children, The Laban Atelier Bratislava and also the Basic and Advanced Module of the BabySoma Education course - Development of Movement in the First Year of Life and Movement Education for Small Children 1 – 3.

She completed courses in the Body-Mind Centering System: Body Fluid System (2016), Muscular System (2018), Endocrine System (2019). She is co-author of a DVD for the book Creative Dance for Children (M. Poláková, M. Pucová). She taught at The Ľudovít Rajter Elementary Arts School in Bratislava, at the Trnava Conservatory, and is currently with the Private Elementary Art School at Prokofievova St., Bratislava

 

Katarína Palúchová is a graduate of the Department of Dance Pedagogy for Elementary Arts Schools at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. As teacher, she worked mainly with preschool and younger school age children of. Together with Anna Hurajtová she conducts the Bodyplays (Telohry) classes that focus on mindful bodywork and creative dance for children aged 3 to 12.

She also teaches dance at the Elementary Art School in Stupava and gives folklore lessons for the youngest children. She also collaborated on the preparation and filming of Spievankovo 5, Spievankovo 6 and the Angličanina project as a choreographer, dance teacher and second assistant for working with children during filming.

Over the past three years she has completed workshops on mindful movement and creative dance with children led by Lenka Švandová (CZ), Mirka Eliášová (CZ), Jiří Lőssl (CZ), Sophie Billy (FR), and Zosia Jo (UK); in the summer of 2019 the weekly accredited programme on Laban's movement principles in dance practice. She regularly attends music and movement workshops based on the ideas of Carl Orff, convened by the Czech Orff Society in Prague.
