In 1996, dancers, choreographers, teachers and students founded the Contemporary Dance Association (Asociácia súčasného tance, AST). Subsequently, the first joint proposal for the Centre for Contemporary Dance in Bratislava that was to house a theatre, rehearsal room and a media library. The Centre, however, remained just a vision. Another project – the National Choreographic Centre – encountered the same fate.

Today, the situation for contemporary dance is changing at last. After 25 years, numerous beginnings and many ends, S - space dedicated to contemporary dance was created in cooperation with THE AST and Kunsthalle Bratislava (KHB). It will open on the first day of the 17th edition of Nu Dance Fest. We cordially invite you to the opening of S4, highlighted by the Raptor Koch concert and, of naturally, a glass of wine!
