After a two-year break, the New Faces of Contemporary Dance section will once again present a generation of young choreographers working in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The first block features the performance by the Czech ensemble Spolk S dovolením!.

Accelerated time. Nobody has time to wait. From time to time everybody has to involuntarily stop. But omnipresent stress and rush forces us to keep running. Just because you’re standing still, doesn’t mean you’re not in a hurry.

SPOLK is an artistic group of young dancers. Its members are students and graduates of the Prague Dance Conservatory Duncan Centre and the Academy of Performing Arts. Its foundation was a response to the long-term interest of individual members in collaborative work. SPOLK responds to a range of social and societal issues. The interest of the SPOLK is epitomised by an interest in a deeper examination of chosen topic and a distinctive dance performance.
