Petra Fornayová: Siedmy deň / The Seventh Day (SK)

Videoinstallation
(22 min)

The Seventh Day Record was composed by Martin Burlas in response to the unflattering political situation in Slovakia in the 1990s. Plato's texts responded to the government crisis in Syracuse in the 4th century BC. The videoinstallation by Petra Fornayová is a response to the current-day crisis. The Seventh Day epitomises exhalation, abandonment, ending the cycle. It is a liminal day that heralds a new week, but despite the peace, it contains the tension of an anticipated beginning start.
