Tereza Krejcova & coll.: How to represent a broken heart? (AT/CZ)

SLOVAK PREMIÈRE

Disturbed and misunderstood, the romantic hero sets out on a cyclical journey. A broken heart drives him forward, urges him to act, starts a search.

The unequivocal answer is utopia.

Existential philosophy. Spiritual overlapping. Romanticism. Their centerpiece is the hero - a troubled individual looking for an explanation and perhaps inner peace for his internal struggles. This dance poem is a mirror to look into. It encourages quietness and offers space for reflection. We don't cling to finding answers. Let's live the questions themselves.

How to represent a broken heart? From the animal kingdom to the depths of human minds, the international dance group invites the audience on a hypnotic movement poem journey about encounters. The hero and the herd. Animal instincts, the power of the intellect, irrational emotionality and, above all, the need of spirituality.

TEREZA KREJCOVA is a graduate from the Duncan Centre Conservatory in Prague. She had an internship at the Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts in the Netherlands and the SEAD Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance. As a dancer, she participated in projects with Michal Záhora (Pulsar, 2017; Celebration, 2018), Min Tanak (A Body, 2017), Anna Balslev (What now?, 2019), or Jan Lauwers (Intolletanza 1960, 2021).

In her choreographic work, Tereza created two solos in collaboration with music composer Václav Chalupský – Nekryte (2018) and Naturamela (2019). Her latest work, the sextet How to represent a broken heart? (2022) emerged in close collaboration with an international group of dancers, colleagues from the Salzburg studios, Italy, Hungary, India and Colombia.
