E-CHO
online choreographic project – not just for dancers

Fortunately, many artistic disciplines can work at least partially online even under these conditions, but unfortunately dance is not one of them – we need an audience that perceives the legacy of artists on stage and which by its presence makes the most important thing. In limited circumstances, psychologists advise to concentrate on the things we have at our disposal and not on those we have not.

We do not have: audience, stage, auditorium, collective, lights, technical direction, whiskey in the bar after the performance, etc.

We do have: mobile phone, internet, creativity, a lot of time – as opposed to medical professionals, to whom we all pay big respect.

We are addressing all friends of Nu Dance Fest and especially all performers who were supposed to perform at the 15th edition of this international festival of contemporary dance on April 21 – 29, 2020, to join the E-CHO project.

The participation rules are simple:

1. Record a video – movement sequence for a maximum of 7 sec.
2. Please DO NOT send a recording of existing performances – E-CHO is about sharing with each other the dance we are able to create in these limited conditions :)
3. Choose a number from 1 to 100 under which you want your minichoreography to be included in the common choreography set.
4. Write down your name / nick in this shared spreadsheet next to your number of choice. This marks this slot in the choreography as yours – and it lets others know this number is taken.
5. Please, send your video by April 15, 2020,  to petra.fornayova@nudancefest.sk. Include the name (or nick) and number you have chosen in the body of the email.

E-CHO will be published on fb and www.nudancefest.sk 29.4. 2020, on the International Dance Day, which was supposed to be the last day of this year's festival. If situation permits and NDF 2020 will be held, and as far as it is technically and organizationally possible, every night of the festival, E-CHO will be performed live all those who want and can. 
 
Finally, the notorious Pina Bausch statement, valid hundreds of times more now: Dance, dance, dance, otherwise we are lost.
