The production explores – through the character of the young migrant Filomena – themes close to the author.

The performance is set in the context of Mexico during the Cristero War in 1935. The main character is the young and mysterious Filomena, who fled with her family from Veracruz to escape violence, settling in a remote village. Her family of musicians tries to find a new meaning of life on the farm.

Through Filomena's perspective, the production reveals how the family deals with its history and copes with the new reality. Feelings of confusion, disagreement with surrounding violence, and the desire for freedom are the main motifs of the dance story about Filomena.

The story, told through dance and movement, follows Filomena's journey to freedom and her own identity.

The performance is the second part of Thursday's double show at A4. Its first part is the performance by RADICAL EMPATHY: Carry. The same ticket entitles entry to both performances.

After the double-show, there will be a discussion with the creators of the show. The discussion will begin approx. 10 minutes after the end of the performances and will be moderated by Dáša Čiripová.
